Mielenkiinnolla testaan uusia tekniikoita ja ideoita askartelussa. Häämatka-sivuja tehdessäni kokeilin kuvien tekemistä läpikuultavaksi. Olin leikellyt lehdistä/matkaoppaista joitain teemaan sopivia kuvia ja kokeilin nillä. Täytyy sanoa, että lopputulos ei ollut niin hieno kuin kirjassa :(, mutta yhden kuvan sain onnistumaan ihan kivasti, se on tuo norsukuva heti otsikon alla - jos tuosta pienestä kuvasta nyt paljoa näkyy.



Nuo pienet tikut leikkasin pidemmistä tikuista ja kiinnitin kuumaliimalla. Olipa siinä hommaa, kun kuumaliima kuivuu niin nopeasti!

Seurasin ohjeita läpikuultavaksi tekemiseen kirjasta The Complete Book of Creative Scrapbooking ja laitan tähän ohjeet mukaan:

Transferring images onto transparent or translucent materials gives more options for display as the background behind the transparency becomes part of the image. Scrapbookers have discovered that the adhesive on contact laminating sheets or packing tape fixes black laser printer and copying ink when the backing paper is gently dissolved.

Various types of self-adhesive plastic film can be used to create transparent transfers from laser prints and copies as well as from magazine and newsprint pictures and text. Clear packing tape is easily available (minä käytin kontaktimuovia).

1. You can use small images or photographs, parts of photographs, sections of pattern or even columns of text. Simply apply the packing tape smoothly over the area of printed or photocopied material that you want to use. Trim away excess paper and tape.
2. Soak the tape strips in a shallow container of tepid water for a few minutes. The tape will curl, so turn the pieces over and flatten them out several times during the soaking process. When the paper is quite wet, you can peel away most of the paper, leaving a translucent layer of pulp and the printed image.
3. Continue to rub away the paper pulp on the back of the tape with your fingers - doing this while the tape is still soaking in the water allows the paper crumbs to float away. When all the paper has been removed, pat the tape with paper towels and allow it to dry completely before using it on a layout.
