Joulukakku - Christmas Cake
Hedelmäkakku on siis päällystetty ensin marsipaanilla, sitten pikeerillä kolmeen kertaan. Joulutähdet on myös pikeeristä, samoin joulupukki, kakun kulmakoristeet ja pursotukset. Joulutähdistä tuli tosi hauraita, ja monesta onkin lehden pää katkennut :(. Mutta se ei varmaan makua haittaa!
This week at the Sugarcraft Course we finally finished the Christmas Cake! This is what it looks like. Eventually we ended up having a Santa on top of the cake instead of the flower setting that we made earlier. Definitely better this way, I was already worried how will the pink flowers go with the poinsettias! This cake I will take along when we head to my mother-in-laws to celebrate Christmas a bit in advnce before flying to Finland.
The cake is covered first with marzipan, then three coats of Royal Icing. The poinsettias, the Santa and the corners as well as the piping is all made by using Royal Icing. The poinsettias were really fragile, many of the petals broke. But I am sure it doesn't affect the taste of the cake :).
